Are Acca Insurance Offers Dead?

Accumulator Offers used to be a big deal.

Looking back to when I started with MatchdayProfits I made hundred of pounds from these offers alone, using a “no lay” approach just trying to find winning 5 folds that would stand a decent chance of landing at least 4 from 5.

Many people were exploiting them to the maximum using software and multiple accounts. This no doubt contributed to the bookies changing the terms to offer less value to punters – or just scrapping them altogether.

I have moved on from then and since made the most of other matched betting angles but as it turns out, even in 2022 we have at least a couple of bookmakers that do still have very favourable terms for us, let’s check them out.

Ladbrokes:

Previously Ladbrokes had this promotion limited to certain leagues or you were limited to matches on their “5+ Acca coupon”, but these new terms, with 1.10 minimum odds, (seemingly) any matches and BTTS and Over/Under markets – makes this a really generous offer.
The only downsides for me are likely to be keeping your account under the radar whilst targeting this offer and how long it remains before the terms are changed again.
But for now, if you have access to it, this is a great offer to go at.

We’ve had two cracks at it so far this season with my members being advised two five folds – one came up one short and we got a Free Bet refund, and the other came in @ 9.23 securing an £83 profit on the bet.
(for those that didn’t hedge it)

Here’s our five-fold from the weekend just gone:

Portsmouth @ 4/6
Mansfield @ 27/20
Ajax @ 2/7
PSG @ 1/2
Celtic @ 2/9

£10 Five Fold @ 8.23/1

You will note that 3 of these are 1/2 or shorter and only one selection was odds-against.

This is a deliberate tactic to employ with these, I call it the “Bankers and Base” method.
Without going into too much detail, I am generally looking for three very solid picks in the 1.10-1.33 odds range which will make up my “base” for the Acca. Then I just need two “Bankers” which will typically be in the 1.50 – 2.50 odds range.
This approach will put the Acca above the min odds of 3/1 and give you a high chance of at least getting the refund.

PaddyPower (In Shop Coupons)

Paddys have had some decent shop offers in the past but I did have to read the terms a couple of times on their new Acca Insurance offer.
They are offering Money Back as a Free Bet if one leg loses on 4+ Fold Accas – Placed via certain in-shop coupons like the one below:

The things that make this a great offer are:

Only FOUR selections are required to qualify for Insurance.
a workable Minimum price per leg of 1/5 (It’s 1.25 online if you’re not gubbed)
Multiple markets to utilise such as WDW, Handicaps, BTTS, O/U 2.5

You will usually have to accept worse odds with this offer but that isn’t always the case.
The other thing to note is that the FB refund is a slip that you can use on anything – so you could use it on the day’s odds boost for example, which you might lay off on Smarkets and effectively get 70-80% of your money back. (Provided the price was close enough)

So this is another good LOW-RISK betting strategy to attack the bookies with this season.

You could utilise the same “Bankers and Base” approach as above but requiring only 2 base selections, or you could just have one bigger priced selection, perhaps being a DRAW between two evenly matched sides.

As with the Ladbrokes offer – some “mug betting” might be wise to cover your tracks – along with NOT betting to the maximum stakes of the offer all the time, and visiting different shops if you are able.

Conclusions

Acca Insurance isn’t quite dead.

And the above two offers are well worth having a go at this season.

I’ll be sending out my Acca bets to my members so if you want to have my researched selections sent to you as and when I place them myself you can join my service here.

Let me know if you know of any more worthwhile Acca Offers and any success you have with this!
