Can Man City win the Quadruple in 2019/20?
Peps Man City have won the League the last two seasons having ammassed more pionts over 2 seasons than any side before them, they are odds on to win it again and at around 4/6 one could argue there’s some value.
They have also won the League Cup the last two seasons where their almost embarrassing strength in depth has shone through, with players chomping at the bit to get in the side and impressing to win this first trophy to be given out. Their FA Cup campaign of 17/18 was ended by a massive shock at Wigan in the 5th round, aided somewhat by a red card and the Champions League Campaign that year was ended by Liverpool who were the better side in the Quarter final. This season City avoided an upset in the FA Cup to win in imperious fashion, won 14 straight games to win the Premier League, and we’re denied a Champions League Semi Final berth by the narrowest of margins in a wacky tie against Tottenham.
Both of the last two seasons they touched single figure odds to win the Quadruple, with them going somewhere around 5/1 this season.
Its hard to see where the others are going to catch up at this point, Liverpool are very close but the sense is that they are performing at their limit, whereas City have arguably had their best player out for most of the season (De Bruyne) and have more depth. With Pep Guardiola having committed to another two seasons it seems very likely that the City will remain dominant and could easily give a very decent run to Quadruple backers once again.
We have backed this at 50/1 and lost the last two seasons to small money, and of course there remains the fact that it is a very difficult and unlikely task that would mean something like a 64 match season. But I am at least as confident as in previous seasons that it will give us a run and at over 100/1 it’s not so much a question of whether they can do it, but at what price should it be, and for me it shouldn’t be a treble figure price. You might want to wait a couple of weeks after the season is actually finished to see if anyone offers a bigger price, but Ladbrokes are going 80/1 and I’m happy enough with the 125/1 Skybet are offering.

Ante-Post Update

By | Antepost | No Comments

I’ve just updated the results sheet and we’re overall about £1160 to the good on advised bets this season.
That’s not including the Ante-post bets however where we look fairly certain to have some winners, and definitely a batch of losers too, come the end of the season.
So with the season about the enter the final run in. Lets take a look where we stand:
I’ve taken the Golden Boot bets out of this scenario, we are long odds on to land one a winner with one of Aguero, Salah or Kane. We just need the likes of Aubameyang not to score to many more, so provided one of those wins we’ll be about £-50 on the Antepost bets before taking into account the other bets that could still go either way.
Here’s what’s still open along with the potential profit and current odds:
Liverpool PL, +£70 or -£20 – 13/8
EPL side wins CL, +£60 or -£10 – 6/4
Barca/Atleti straight f/c, +£72 or -£12 – about 5/4
West Ham top half, +£60 or -£15 – 8/11
Arsenal EL, +£100 or -£15, 11/2
Real Madrid CL, +£50 (freebet) – 10/1
Man City all three Cup Comps, +£50 or -£3- 4/1
Man City Quad, +£150 or -£3 – 7/1

So some really solid positions there.
We’ve other bets like Salford that are technically still live, but after a terrible run of form they’re 9pts off the top and 25/1 now, so I wrote that bet off as a loser for these calculations.
Still plenty of irons in the fire this season and hopefully these will provide lots of enjoyment and profit to come.
